Hey, I’m Hemin — the founder of The Recess Room. Growing up, recess was my favorite part of the day. Not just because of the swings or four square, but because it was the one time we could just be — no expectations, no stress, just joy and connection.

Fast forward to college and life beyond, I noticed something: adults don’t get recess. We get deadlines, pressure, meetings, and routines — but where’s our playtime? That’s when the idea hit me: create a space that feels like a nighttime version of recess. Moody, fun, nostalgic, and unapologetically playful.

So I built The Recess Room — a cozy, neon-lit sanctuary filled with games, comfy spots to lounge, creative vibes, and that same carefree energy we all used to have at recess. It’s a space to disconnect, laugh, compete (nicely), and reset.

This isn’t just a room. It’s a movement — to bring play back into our lives, one ping-pong match or dance-off at a time.
